A warm welcome to the hiking paradise of Zauchensee in the Salzburg region! A true Eldorado for hikers awaits you here. It doesn’t matter whether you prefer leisurely walks or challenging mountain tours, whether you love short explorations or extensive summit adventures – there is the perfect route for everyone on a hiking holiday in Zauchensee.

Together with our hotel director Stefanie, a “certified hiking guide”, you can explore the gentle and sometimes more sporty peaks of Zauchensee and experience nature from a different perspective.

Relaxation is very important to us. And so our small, fine sauna world invites you to relax. Finnish saunas, steam bath, infrared cabins, an ice-cold stepping-pool and 2 foot jacuzzi-massage pools relax your mind and muscles…

EXCELLENT HIKING

We love it!

You can easily reach the nearest hiking trails on foot, directly at the hotel. The starting point for the paths in the Zauchensee recreation area is just a few steps away. We also offer a good connection to the hiking bus and sufficient parking space for your vehicle. The summer mountain railway “Gamskogel I” is also within sight of the hotel.

Our hotel is located directly in the small hotel village of Zauchensee, perfectly located for exploring different lengths and levels of difficulty. Our nature is of course very important to us, so we rely on energy saving measures and environmentally friendly cleaning agents, and together with our colleagues we are proud to save approx. 1.600 t of CO2 per year, since we are connected to the local heating system, which is operated with wood chips. This is how we save money and protect the environment.

We have known and appreciated Zauchensee for many years, winter and summer alike. We (unfortunately) only now discovered the Hotel Sportalmmm. Pampering from morning to night. Everyone is always approachable and friendly, having fun at work and with each other (laughter and joy from the kitchen). Feel-good room, everything very clean, a great breakfast, also with special requests. The highlight: a 5-course dinner with an additional salad bar and cheese buffet is an extremely successful surprise every evening. We have never experienced such a kitchen. All in all, simply a pleasure that cannot be overestimated. Thank you very much, we have already registered for the newsletter.

Zauchensee and Sportalm can be described in three words: familiarity – enjoyment – wellbeing We felt incredibly comfortable at Sportalmmm right from the start and are enthusiastic about the great food. Starting with breakfast (3, 7 and 9 minute eggs, anything is possible), to snacks and supper as well. It’s highly enjoyable! You just feel good in this hotel. The location is first class, right in the ski area. The view from the cozy living room in the hotel is unique! There is no better place for our skiing holiday than Zauchensee and Sportalmmm.

This hotel is big surprise for me. We are well travelled and I would not expect this from 4star hotel. Perfect location- few steps from slopes. Very clean- very precise cleaning every day. Suite- we have booked suite on 1st floor with view on slopes, enough space for 2 people / separate room for kids. Saunarium and wellness- very nice saunas and relax rooms. Dining- breakfast and dinners- I was in a very luxurious hotel this year in Palm Dubai and that time I have said these were my best dinners in my life. I come to 4star Austrian hotel with no expectation and the dinner is one of the best in my life. This is a reason why we will be back as the food is not just food but a real pleasure. Overall very quiet and relaxing place, worth to visit.
